    Hi all I have 2 gaming computers of which both have been running very slow for a few months.

    This post is for the 2nd computer that we also use to stream video on. The startup process is very slow and I tend to get a lot of errors popping up that I'm constantly trying to fix.

    I have taken the cleanup and checking as far as I know how. Below are the attachments you request.

    Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hello minikoop :)

    http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/4746/programsandfeatureswin7.gif From Programs and Features (via Control Panel), please uninstall the below:
    • Driver Sweeper version 3.2.0
    • DriverMax 6
    • Spybot - Search & Destroy

    http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/4930/combofix.gif Fixing items using ComboFix
    Make sure that ComboFix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your desktop -- but do not run it.
    If it is not on your desktop, the below will not work.
    Shut down your protection software now (antivirus, antispyware...etc) to avoid possible conflicts.
    Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into Notepad:
    Code:
    [COLOR="DarkRed"]KillAll::[/COLOR]
    [COLOR="DarkRed"]ClearJavaCache::[/COLOR]
    [COLOR="DarkRed"]DirLook::[/COLOR]
    C:\FRST
    [COLOR="DarkRed"]Driver::[/COLOR]
    Viewpoint Manager Service
    [COLOR="DarkRed"]File::[/COLOR]
    C:\Users\Brian & Jen\AppData\Roaming\inst.exe
    [COLOR="DarkRed"]FileLook::[/COLOR]
    c:\windows\system32\ccrpbds6.dll
    [COLOR="DarkRed"]Folder::[/COLOR]
    C:\Program Files\Viewpoint
    C:\Users\Brian & Jen\AppData\Local\8d573cca
    C:\Users\Brian & Jen\AppData\Local\DriverHound
    c:\windows\system32\%APPDATA%

    C:\ProgramData\Uniblue
    C:\Program Files\DriverGuide Toolkit
    C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
    C:\Users\Brian & Jen\AppData\Roaming\DriverCure
    [COLOR="DarkRed"]Registry::[/COLOR]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "Adobe Reader Speed Launcher"=-
    "Adobe ARM"=-

    [COLOR="DarkRed"]Suspect::[137][/COLOR]
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\SETA1CD.tmp
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\SET2B56.tmp

    Save this file as CFScript.txt to your desktop. So now you should have both CFScript.txt and ComboFix.exe on your desktop.
    Now use your mouse to drag CFScript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe and then release.
    http://softvisia.com/users/Night_Raven/Security/cfsdnd2.gif
    This will launch ComboFix.
    Note: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
    Allow ComboFix to update itself if prompted.
    When ComboFix finishes, a log will be produced at C:\ComboFix.txt
    Attach this log to your next message. (How to attach)

    http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/1894/otl.gif Please download OTL by OldTimer.

    • Save it to your desktop.
    • Right mouse click on the OTL icon on your desktop and select Run as Administrator
    • Check the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
    • Check the "Standard Output".
    • Change the setting of "Drivers" and "Services" to "All"
    • Copy the text in the code box below and paste it into the http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/66/otlcustomfix.png text-field.
      Code:
      activex
      netsvcs
      /md5start
      afd.sys
      i8042prt.sys
      netbt.sys

      %windir%\*.* /mp
      %windir%\*.* /rp
      %windir%\*.* /sl
      %systemdrive%\mgtools\*.*

    • Now click the http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/2405/runscanotl.png button.
    • One report will be created:
      • OTL.txt <-- Will be opened
    • Attach OTL.txt to your next message. (How to attach)

    I removed the programs you indicated, shut down my protection software and started the combofix process as you described below. However the combofix screen has not changed in over 3 hours, do I still let it run?

    It still reads

    "Scanning for infected files...
    This typically doesn't take more than 10 minutes
    However, scan time for badly infected machines may easily double"

    I would prefer if you ran this fix while in Safe Mode for the highest chance of success.
    See: How to start your computer in Safe mode

    Attached is OTLfix.txt
    Download and save this to your desktop.

    http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/1894/otl.gif Now reopen OTL
    Then drag OTLfix.txt into the http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/66/otlcustomfix.png text-field.
    You should see a bunch of text transferred over into the text-field.
    Now click the http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/407/otlrunfix.png button.
    The fix will need a reboot. Allow the PC to reboot into Normal Mode (don't go back into Safe Mode).
    Click the OK button (upon reboot).
    When OTL is finished, Notepad will open. Close Notepad.
    A log file will be located at C:\_OTL\MovedFiles\mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log, where mmddyyyy_hhmmss is the date of the tool run.
    Attach this log to your next message. (How to attach)

    __

    http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/3214/baticonvista7.gif Now run C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat by right-mouse clicking it and then selecting Run as Administrator
    This updates all of the logs inside MGlogs.zip.
    When it is finished, attach C:\MGlogs.zip to your next message. (How to attach)

    You're welcome.

    Here are the final cleanup steps to remove our tools whenever you are ready:

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis if it present
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
        for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work through the below link:
    Be safe :)
