As you know we have given away a lot of keys on Facebook. I think I personally sent out over 25,000 emails to do so. These keys are like most software, they work on one computer and usually expire after a year. Here is the last guy who takes the fun out of giveaways for everybody:

    (Edited to remove personal details)

I bought a new computer and when I try to activate it says I have used the max number of computers

    Hi Ronald,
    Thanks for contacting IObit.
We have reset the license code. Please kindly follow the steps below to install IObit Malware Fighter on your new computer:
    1) Please download the latest version of IObit Malware Fighter from below link and install it. (If you've finished this step, just skip it.)
    http://www.iobit.com/downloadcenter.php?product=imf-pro
    2) Open IObit Malware Fighter, click "Upgrade" button at the left bottom, then enter the registration information as follows:
    License code: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    Thanks for supporting IObit.

And the final email, my warm thank you for sending him free software then apparently not contacting IOBIt 8 months later for him which he obviously was capable of:

    Ronald:

Glad it worked out Ronald but you really take the fun out of giveaways.

Wait! You mean you aren't going to supply him lifelong keys and support forever???

    ;)

    People are idiots.

Although most of the customers at my PC shop are nice, there are (as in this case) a few a--holes in any bunch.

I'm in the process of upgrading my CCTV security at the shop to include audio and higher res. cameras.

Would you be horribly offended if I "borrowed" this thread concept for a YouTube page dedicated to off-the-hook customers? :-D

Wait. So he thought because he got free software from you that you should provide customer service? I'm going to go ahead and assume he's never bought software from a store.

Who the heck thinks winning something in a giveaway means the person you won whatever-it-is from needs to provide support for it? If he won a car playing slots at a casino, would he then drive it there for maintenance instead of a mechanic?

    People make my brain hurt.

It kind of wants I imagine Tim for you to stop doing these free give-a-ways of software in which you do not have too! but do so as you like to give back but as TimW says there is always one!

Thanks for the laugh Sgt. Tibbs. David, yes there have been numerous times I just want to fold it in and we are going to slow it down because of this but we wont stop. I hope on the new backend to be able to do this via the website and not Facebook.

Hi Tim, yeah using the new website backend would be much better over FB, plus better to promote things directly over using a 3rd party and FB is full of freaks and weirdos ;) (present company excluded).

Still doing the things as in give-a-ways you guys kindly do is well worth continuing but likely in a smaller more targeted way, sadly many just want a freebie and then complain about something they did not pay for, and without actually continuing to this community one iota.

    Hey! :p

I agree there is always one (or many) whiners in the bunch that feel OBLIGATED for you to give away free stuff and if you don't boy are you a scam! :-D

With the many giveaways I enter I see this ALL the time. People are quick to get angry and "blame" the company if they don't get one. They don't understand that a company doesn't HAVE to giveaway ANYTHING.

Please don't. I'm really enjoying the free key I got. And when it expires, a year from when you gave it to me, I'll post a humble memorial for my IObit Malware Fighter install on my Facebook page, and look back at the year we had together with fond memories.

We might not have had forever, but the short time we had together was well worth the pain when it ended. :cloud9
