New laptop question

I purchased a new Acer Aspire 5749 laptop earlier this week with the surface that looks like metal ... kind of looks like little x's. I noticed today there is a small hole where one of the tiny parts that looks like an X is and I'm wondering if this is something to worry about or if it's nothing? It's not far from the mouse pad.

I have 90 days return policy on the laptop, but I've already downloaded programs and things like that and don't want to start over. Is this a bad thing or does it matter?

I'm not sure what you mean is it possible you could take a photo and add it as an attachment with your next post?

From your description though I don't recognise it as a standard component so I'm assuming it is cosmetic. In general if there's something cosmetic that supposed to be there and it's broke off then its up to your to decide if you can live with it.

LOL, who wudda thunk it? I've only been using it for a few days and didn't notice the little hole.
