    Hi,
I have a dell 4400 XP desktop that had AVG9.0 installed years ago. I deleted it with the AVG uninstaller rather then a power uninstaller like REVO etc...

I have noticed that there are files in the ccleaner "utilities Files" marked AVG9 (see attached image)

I also did a hijack this scann and found avg9 references. (see attached log)

How can I get rid of this?

    Thanks

The files that CCleaner found are now Gone - as your screen shot shows, they were "cleaned".

Since you have CCleaner, try the Registry Cleaner process.

Be sure to First go to Options -> Advanced and select Show prompt to backup registry issues.

I suggest that you create a new CCleaner Backups folder (directory) Outside the default location of Program Files\CCleaner folder.
Then, Before the registry issues are Removed, be sure to select That folder to backup the removed registry entries.
That way, if you uninstall and then reinstall CCleaner, you will Not lose your backups.

You can check your Startup Processes for AVG entries.
Startup Control Panel Standalone Version works well with Windows XP and doesn't need installation.

Or you could use Microsoft Autoruns or WinPatrol

Hi my friend , look at this link

    http://forums.avg.com/us-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=24401

you could ensure if these keys is deleted

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Avg\Avg9
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avg\Avg9
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AVG*
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVG9Uninstall

    try it :wave
