    Hello,

I need help with my computer which was infected by FBI Moneypak. I was able to see were chaslang recommended to use Kaspersky RescueDisk 10 to unlock windows which I did and appeared to have worked. But when I tried to boot up in Normal Mode it first ran chkdisk and FBI moneypak was back. Re-ran Kasperky and in Safe Mode I was able to deleted from the Startup folder "ctfmon" and use Malwarebytes to remove "install_0_msi.exe".I also cleaned out my Java temp files.

I was able to boot into winxp but folders/files did not look right. So decided to do the Malware Removal Guide and I think I may another trojan or virus.

I ran RogueKiller and renamed it to winlogon.exe (per instruction) then ran Malwarebyte which found something and removed it but after reboot the RogueKiller program has disappeared.

I can look for Kaspersky log if you need it.

Your help would be truly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!
It was deleted when you ran Malwarebytes due to naming it winlogon.exe ;)

I'm not seeing any obvious malware problems. Are you having any?

However I do suggest you do the below.

    Uninstall the below adware junk:
    Coupon Printer for Windows
    Coupons.com Toolbar

Also uninstall the below old Java version:
    Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 21

    Delete the below files:
    Code:
    "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\"
    bitoib.dat Aug 15 2012 0 "bitoib.dat"
    tmp1d.log Jul 28 2012 749 "tmp1D.log"
    tmp1d.tmp Jul 28 2012 132157 "tmp1D.tmp"

    Hi chaslang,

Hope you're doing well...Thank you for your help once again... Its been awhile due to your suggestions from last contamination, but time, opportunity and complatency can bite you in the rear... ;)

Oops okay RK removed by Mbytes I need to look closer to logs.. Duh

Well when I ran HitmanPro (as part of Read & Run Me First) it found "Trojan.FakeAV" and "Adware.ClickPotato" (which is probably Coupon Bar???) but the Read & Run Me First instructions for HitmanPro said to not let the program "Remove" it but to set it to "Ignore" and then send log.

I have not been using that computer I was waiting till I heard back from someone, just incase I had malware on it.

Have done what you suggested, only thing that I was unable to remove was the Coupon.com Toolbar (Control Panel---> Add or Remove Program did not work, I have disabled it through IE Add-ons).

I will check to see how computer is working, if I lost anything and update my my malware programs to check again. I will check back with you later.

Can you recommended something better the ZA Security Suite?

Thank you for helping and teaching...

Well, there is something still wrong with computer, I ran Malwarebytes full scan and nothing came up. So I shutdown and restarted computer and it didn't load winxp it first went into chkdsk mode...I tried to write down as much as i could

    Checking file system on C:
    .....NTFS
1 disk needs to be checked for consistency windows will now chkdsk

it went throught a process(I rewriting registry files) of opening files some of the files I was able to write down but there were more
    AK_DLL.swl
    AK_DLL.swl.old
    ISWSHEX.swl
    TRUSTCHECKER.swl
    NGENSERVICELOCK.dat
    TRUSTCHECKER.swl.old
    NGENROOTSTORELOCK.dat
    CHKDSK is verifying security description

Then it load winxp. This is the 2nd time its done since infection it may be reinstalling trojan. :confused

So I ran HitmanPro and it still shows Trojan.FakeAV and Adware.ClickPotato.

It appars that a JAVA application (javaw.exe) was trying to open restricted resources and connect to web, per ZoneAlarm alert. When I checked ZA program the protection for internet has been turned off...

I'll update if I can get more information...thanks!!!

Most likely you are having Windows problems. Your logs really did not show any significant malware. ClickPotato is insignificant adware.

Yes java requires internet access if you wish it to work properly.

If Zonealarm is not working properly then uninstall it, reboot, and then reinstall if you wish to continue using it. Otherwise see the below link for other choices.

    Hey chaslang,

Thank you for your help once again...

Yes, I believe you are correct about the Windows problem everytime I logon strangely Windows blinks twice as it loads...IE8 is also crashing constantly..

Is the d3d9caps.dat(Trojan.FakeAV) in HitmanPro a false positive, I think I read that as I did some research and waited for your response.

I've reinstalled ZA so many times Im done with it... I will check out the malware information...

    Again thanks for your help...

    You're welcome
It is from Microsoft's DirectX 3D. It is not a problem.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
