Speed "limit"?

    Lead foots of the America unite! By the end of the year, a highway in Texas will open with an 85 (yes, eighty-five) MPH speed limit:

    If State Troopers use the same amount of slack in enforcement (roughly 10 MPH over) as on most other highways and toll roads, this may be the closest thing to an Autobahn in the US.

    I'm jealous I'm not in Texas! I THINK PA is going to 75mph on the turnpike but not positive. We're at 65 now. Honestly, no one drives under 70 or so and if you do you are most likely creating dangerous problems. My grandfather insisted on continuing to go no more than 55 when it went up to 65. That was scary.

    I've been on Interstate 10 in Arizona where the speed limit is 75.

    If a State Trooper catches someone going 80, they get pulled.

    In the Uk our maximum is 70mph, but yes very few stick to this.
