Non specific infection

    Used this once before for a very serious threat. Worked wonderfully. ;)

    My system is acting oddly... erratic and slow... Video jumps and lags.... Skype freezes/pauses then continues... just generally unpleasant stuff.

    I did all the things I knew to do... (Cleaned the registries, etc)

    I have ARO 2011.
    CCleaner
    I use Avast

    The last time I got everything perfect I didn't do a complete backup of the pristine clean system. I will do that this time :)

    I followed all the steps in the Read Me First.
    Made sure I had only 1 security program running (Avast)
    Turned off UAC
    Set system to show hidden files
    Downloaded all required utilities
    Rand each utility as described
    Generated a log from each scan

    Each of the 5 scan logs are attached to this post.

    You do not appear to be having malware problems as your logs are clean.
    Registry cleaning is not recommended unless an expert advises you to do so and then also tells you exactly what to fix. Registry cleaning is a frequent cause of many problems on PCs including issues like you are experiencing. And sometimes you don't notice the problems for quite awhile. This also applies to ARO and infact if this program is running, it could even be the cause of you noticing performance issues on your PC.

    However all that being said, your problems may also just be due to what you are running. For example you have all of the below installed and running and there could be some conflicts between them:
    • avast! Free Antivirus
    • CA Pest Patrol Realtime Protection
    • Comcast AntiSpyware
    • Outpost Firewall 2009
    Also are you copies of SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes the free versions?

    One other point to note, Steam has also been a frequent cause of slow downs.
