    GooredFix

Ensure all Firefox windows are closed.
To run the tool, double-click it (XP), or right-click and select Run As Administrator (Vista/Win 7).
When prompted to run the scan, click Yes.
GooredFix will check for infections, and then a log will appear.

I did and I got this, is this a log?

I didnt realize that was indeed a log
I thought the redirect issue was fixed, today I learned it is not.....I'll keep working at the MRG, but I am not a computer person... and this takes great effort and I still dont understand:
1 how this happened, I dont go to any xxx sites
2 why isnt there a program I can run that would fix this with a click?

3 why doesnt my dog excrete gold?;)

I don't know about gold excretion. But if you want my assistance you will have to run everything that I have asked you to run, otherwise, I am about as much use to you as a ashtray on a motorbike. Thanks.

Well, instead of posting sillies about your dog crapping out gold, get on with the procedures and then you can attach all the logs at once and I can review them for you.

Do what you like. You came here I presume to seek assistance. You don't seem to require any now. Nuke and pave (reformat) and if there's still an issue it's likely your MBR. (Of course, to fix that, more tools would have to be run and you may not be bothered about running them or not, judging by what you have already commented here.) Take care and safe surfing! :)

As Kestrel13! noted, if your MBR and of partitions are infected, a format will not fix the problem. Since you did not give us the necessary logs, we cannot say what type of infection or how badly infected you are.

There are no easy quick fixes for many of the malware problems that exist today. If you think that formatting and reinstalling is always easier you are actually wrong. There are many many things to after you format and reinstall.

A new install involves more than you may think. Especially to get back to a level of where your system is at. You have to consider all of the below:
    • you have to backup all you own data, settings, configurations, favorites ( for multiple browsers possibly ) etc and first you have to know what/where all of these are. And you have to have the medium (burnable media, second hard drive, tape drive [yuck] )
    • then you must make sure you have the necessary disks to reinstall not just your OS but all other software you use especially protection before going online
    • then delete your partitions, recreate partitions, format, reinstall the OS ( formatting is not good enough these days as there are many infections that can survive a format )
    • now reinstall all your software especially protection
    • get online (requires some setup and config that novices have problems with)
    • download updates for OS
    • download updates for protection software
    • download updates for all other software
    • tweak all software back the way you like it. Including Desktop settings, icons etc.
    • create all the folders that you use for everything in your normally routines
    • re-load from your backups to get data back, to get settings, Favorites,.....etc back
    • now over the next two weeks you will realize that you forgot to backup some stuff and also you will keep finding something else that you need to reinstall.
