    So, here's what happened.

I recently had problems with my Alienware M17x R2 laptop. Whenever I was watching a movie the movie screen would go green with strange noises going on until I stop it. Then a few days later just randomly the screen would be going white and flickering and then I had to shut down.

I tried to restore my computer to a restore point, it wouldn't work. I tried to restore it to factory state, those freezing stopped, but I started to get some freezing at specific times, whenever I'd leave the computer without touching it for too long or when I would plug/unplug it, nothing I can do when it freeze I have to shut it down. And just a few hours ago it froze so I restarted it, windows loads, but then when it's supposed to show the user profiles screens black with the white mouse in the middle. Can't move the mouse, can't do anything.

I'm able to run in safe mode tho. Anyone help would be greatly appreciated, I can't seem to find the problem by myself, tried for a while. Thanks!

Forgot to say, when I turn it off normally, (open start window, click shut down) it goes all the way to shutting down but after the screen "shutting down" goes to black, (when it's normally turned off) the computer just keeps running with the screen black.

I might have the answer to your problems. This might fix your sleep/suspend problems and your random freezing problems. Bottom line is that the default and "auto" values in Win 7 and your BIOS might not produce a stable computer...even with a virgin install.

    RANDOM FREEZES FIX:
My computer used to freeze randomly until I fixed the memory timings. I suspected bad memory early on and tested it with MEMTEST, but it passed with flying colors. I even tried swaping memory out, trying to eliminate bad memory and/or slots. It turned out that it was a memory frequency/timings/voltage issue. No more freezes! If you have a similar setup, this will most likely fix it. If not, then check your memory and/or power supply.

Hi my friend , do you try to connect your laptop with external monitor ? If the same thing is happened then your graphic card is dead :wave
