I can't say this enough...

... I LOVE pinterest! I was trying to think of what to get (for Christmas) for those who are really hard to shop for (yes, I'm trying to be proactive this year LOL). While I don't consider myself to be very crafty but I love, love, love DIY projects. So I was investing my daily pinterest time and looking in the DIY section when I came across some of the coolest, i never would have thought of this, ideas.

• make your own coasters with unglazed ceramic tiles, photos and nail polish remover! There was a step by step tutorial on how to make these and I am sooo gonna try this!

• Make your own candle holders with ordinary washers and metal glue!

• Buy dollar store mugs/plates, write your own message on them with a sharpie and bake in the oven for a few minutes. The writing doesn't come off!

I never would have thought of this stuff if it weren't for my beloved pinterest! :-D and these are just a few of the ideas I've pinned!! So off i go to the local hardware store as I'm in DIY heaven here!

 

I thought about doing this mid-post but I can't do that from my phone so I will make a new post with pics/links when I get home. :cool

Hmm...yeah I like the photos on the tiles and the fixing writing/drawings on cups, etc., ideas. Might try a few of them, if I get the time.

Hmmmm the photo coasters look like a good idea for a present to my neighbour
I will put a picture of his face on the coaster and have a sensor that starts a screaming noise whenever he puts a hot cup on the coaster roflmao
It would be even better if I found some skin coloured thermal paint that turns into big red blisters when heated by the cup roflmao

So far I've got that penguin ( stand to be built or bought yet) and thinking of welding up some new ramps for my dad's car trailer.
