I was asked to bring my issue here from Malware forum. I already attached some reports and am attaching MBR check here. My problem is that I can't open any browsers and I keep getting BSOD during or otherwise every time I try to use Mozilla or IE.

    Please help!

    Thanks.

These days surfing the web can be rather graphics intensive. That being said, what is your make/model PC? If it is a Dell, do you have a service tag?

Being that your OS is WinXP, I'd guess the machine has quite a few hours on it.

Let's get down to going over your hardware, and ruling out the hard drive, graphics card, or memory. What you will need to do is download the following programs to a USB drive, and then install/run them on your PC from it since browsing to download is apparently out of the question.

    ImgBurn: http://www.majorgeeks.com/ImgBurn_d4870.html

    MemTest 86: http://www.majorgeeks.com/MemTest_d350.html

HDSentinel: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Hard_Disk_Sentinel_d7520.html (just run the free/trial version)

ImgBurn is a solid file burning software that will let you burn MemTest to a bootable disc/CD-ROM, so we can eliminate any RAM issues. When you run it, red is bad. Even a little bit.

HDSentinel will tell you the condition of your hard drive for free, more bells and whistles costs a couple bucks. It installs to Windows so no disc is required.

If you have any questions regarding the software, please post.

Fist, thank you for your responses.I just want to give you guys an update, everything works fine in Safe Mode only in Normal Mode browsers won't work. I am thinking, I had PC Tools Firewall Plus which was acting strange like not loading etc. and my laptop was acting so slow too then I decided to install Comodo after that I uninstalled it because it made it even slower I am not sure if this has anything to do with it. I was told that I don't have any malware.

    Thanks.

    You must follow this

Start - Run msconfig - Startup ( uncheck all boxes ) - Apply - Ok

windows is asking you about restart your machine - speed up - go for it , you can follow the behaviour of your system after this :wave

    Falcon,

    1) I restored the laptop to where I installed Comodo (I had to because it was the only point to go to) then I uninstalled it using Revo Uninstaller. My browsers work in Normal Mode now. I also followed your advice and used Msconfig - unchecked all and restart. The only thing is now when I open Msconfig I noticed that Selective Startup is active not the Normal Startup so is this OK or what should I do.

    2) Although I uninstalled COMODO with Revo there are still leftovers in Registry I tried to delete the Comodo folder under All Programs and I got a message saying "Deleting this folder will affect all users who log onto this computer. Do you want to continue?" How can I get rid of this COMODO CRAP?

    3) I noticed that my Volume icon disappeared how can I get it back?

    Thanks.:wave

Yeah, there were some "???" in the startup log regarding PC Tools.

Note to self, do not read logs just before bed...

I answer to your questions my friend :wave

    1 ) It's alright
2 ) you have to continue anyway with it , go to C:\Program Files if any folder is existed
3 ) Do you mean the icon from the task bar ? Go to Start - Control Panel - Sound and Audio Devices - check the box ( look at the picture ) Apply - Ok
