Hello! I have a desktop EL 1200-01h EeePC that won't load Windows XP (home edition) ...I see no errors just a fast BSOD and then it reboots. Options are to start in Safe Mode (error here says that windows is not fully installed), etc or Normally...none work. I've tried also the EeePC XP Support DVD Rev 1.0 that came with the machine. I set the desktop to boot from an ext. drive and all appears to go well - indicating that the repair was done but still it does not start...
I've scanned all partitions with AVG bootable thumb drive and found nothing wrong. Help Please!

You can look at the error log in XP.

    Instructions

      • 1 Click "Start," right-click on the "Computer" icon and select "Properties." This will open the system properties window.

      • 2 Click "Advanced Settings" in the left pane. A new window will now open.

      • 3 Select the "Advanced" tab and click on "Settings" under Startup and Recovery.

      • 4 Uncheck the check box next to the "Automatically restart" option to prevent Windows from restarting automatically after a BSOD.

Pls forgive me if I'm not clear on your instructions but how do I click "start" when windows will not load?

    Boot to Safe mode.

On the Safe/Advanced options screen choose "Disable Automatic Restart on Error" or something to that effect. That should achieve the same thing and let you read the BSOD.
Post the error number and any files it mentions.

Then you are SOL and need to do a reinstall of the Operating system.
