The first picture is plausible. The second one not so much. If it's not fake (and I think it is, or has at least been altered) then it's the abode of someone with a severe addiction. Maybe a combination of a drug dependency, a gaming or internet dependency, and a mental disorder.

But . . .

I think it's altered for a few reasons off the top of my head - the primary one being the cigarette butts and the way they are arrayed around the keyboard. Even drug addled mentally disturbed individuals have habits . . . and habits are hard to kill. The way the butts are displayed indicate they were simply dumped there and spread around. The blanket of ash supports this.

I mean, think about it. Obviously the second picture is supposed to represent a person who is so tied to that one place in their comfort zone with the computer they seemingly cannot bring themselves to leave and are possibly urinating in soda bottles (Based on that I theorize this is a younger male, 17 - 30) and keeps putting them in more or less the same zone within reach of the keyboard. Yet the ash cover on his keyboard, and under his mouse, are undisturbed. Nor are (as Rikky so aptly pointed out) any of the beer/soda cans that are sitting upright near the keyboard coated with any ash. I have NEVER seen an empty drink can in this kind of setting with a smoker, that does not have evidence of cigarette ash on it.

I think someone has embellished the photo, based on a cursory look at it. I am waiting for a VHS video of my kids taken years ago to digitize, so out of boredom I may be thinking too hard about it :-D
