Heck that forum does not even exist, but I still fold for them. I made a couple of changes, will buy my team a few days or a week.

Jeebus, I had no idea how many points the SMP would do! I was due to be passed a few days ago, and am holding him of to 4 days. He will pass me, but it will be a battle. :-D

 

What are you running FredG? You can probably do some tweaks to increase PPD.

 

Well, have gone from average of 5K PPD to hitting 30K the last couple of days, so have increased some. I have one 8800 running the GPU client, my Q6600 running SMP, and another quad something or other borg running the SMP. Will most likely swat the borg running the GPU to the GPU/SMP and see if I can get a few more PPD.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

 

Right off hand Fred I'd say about the only thing you could do hardware-wise would be to overclock your GPU and CPU.
If you are running under Windows, you could do a VM and run a linux distro for the CPU folding, that might net you a 10% increase in PPD minus a 3% overhead for the VM running.
You don't really want to fold with the GPU under linux, that's a straight off pain. So if you did a VM, keep the GPU folding under Windows.

If your borg has an AMD card, I would not bother with folding on it. Nvidia cards are set up so much better with a lot less draw on the CPU than AMD cards. You generally take more of a hit in CPU folding than the AMD card produces.

 

I can't fold on my GPU anymore, was getting BSODs. Card seems to be fine web browsing and light gaming, so I am going to limp along with it. Will look into the other suggestions.:-D
