Do you have the desktop already? I was just going by this picture of the rear of the case and it shows the desktop has having two (DVI) and one HDMI connections. No VGA.

In that case unless the monitor has a DVI cable you would need an DVI-D cable or a VGA to DVI-I adapter.

If they said yours will have a VGA and DVI connector then you are fine will that monitor and its VGA cable. They are probably using a different version of graphics card then the picture I was looking at. Different graphic card versions have different connections.

I usually use ebay for cables/adapters because they are much cheaper than big-box stores which grossly overcharge. Amazon has some decent prices too as long as shipping doesn't get out of hand.

I'll just give a link to a DVI-I to VGA adapter so you see what it looks like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BFG-DVI-I-VGA-/271093294283?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1e6b64cb

Or you could get a DVI-D cable since your monitor should have a DVI connector as well (according to specs): http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10209&cs_id=1020902&p_id=2408&seq=1&format=2
