I am using Windows XP Ver. 2002 with service Pack 2.on a HP Compaq nx6120 laptop.

I have 39 folders in my C/WINDOWS which I suspect them to be viruses or something harmful.
    Their name is like:

    $NtUninstallKB9229123$.

Only number differs for the rest of 38 folders and 2 or 3 have something like _WMP11$ at the end of file name. Inside all folders there is another folder named "spuninst". What are this staffs and what shall I do with them? Is it OK just to delete them?

Recently I have installed a one-month Antivirus of Bitdeffender. Sometimes it pops up a window saying that it has detected and blocked a virus in my windows folder, but I think it doesn't delete it. How can I solve the issue permanently?

Recently when I want to open a program like MS word, excel and so on, a textbox pops up trying to install the program. I have to click the cancel button to get rid of it and program opens, otherwise it stays there for good. I have this problem recently and I was hoping that intalling Bitdefender can solve this issue but it didn't.

Also one more issue related to viruses. Some folders either inside WINDOWS folder or in other places are transparent (light yellow color). Is this a sign of virus? What shall I do to solve this issue?

Hello and welcome to the forums :)

Normal. These folders contain the files necessary to uninstall specific Windows Updates.

See here for an example: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3205 (Notice the KB958644)
This is just how Microsoft names/IDs their updates.

"WMP11" is short for Windows Media Player version 11.

These folders should not be removed and shouldn't take much space as they are compressed. These folders can be utilized in emergency situations.

Do you have the log from BitDefender to show us what file name it is reporting as infected?

Sounds like an issue with a corrupted installation for a certain program (maybe even Office).

No, these are hidden folders. However, some could be malicious. It would be best for you to read and follow this guide: READ & RUN ME FIRST Malware Removal Guide so that we can check your system for malware (if you suspect a malware related issue).
