Searching for ZoomIt program for Windows XP 64 bit

Hail! I'm looking for the ZoomIt program for Windows XP 64 bit OS. I have found lots of sites that host the program and claim it is compatible with my OS, such as the following:

But none of them work. When I run ZoomIt.exe an error pops up that says "Error launching 64-bit version: (null)" While this message appears an additional file called ZoomIt64.exe appears in the same directory and if I run it I get this error message "C:\...ZoomIt64.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

I tried rebooting in safe mode and installing it, with identical results.

Has anybody successfully used this program on my OS? Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can get it to work? Thank you!

 

The page you mention doesn't say it is a 64 bit app, merely that it runs on XP or higher which leads me to think it is a 32 bit app.

When you did the install, where did you put it? Did it install to:

Code:

c:\program files (x86)

That's where 32 bit apps should be installed to...


Windows 7 Professional comes with an XP mode addon. Are you running Pro? If not, this may be the thing for you:

It will take you to the Microsoft site where you can get what you need, but has better instructions and explanation than the Microsoft site itself.

 

The program doesn't install anywhere, obviously, since the exe file won't run.

Interesting link, thank you. That gives me reason to think about upgrading to Windows 7 if I ever want to use any software which requires it, which so far I do not.

 

XP 64 bit? Sorry didn't see that. I would drop the vendor an email and see what they have to say...

 

You may have more luck on XP x64 if you can find version 4.31
