I have ran and attached all the programs/logs in the "read me first". This is not my computer it is my husbands with his email address. It has the zero access according to the logs. It's a Sony Vaio E series windows 7 home premium service pack 1, 6GB RAM, 64 bit OS. Another strange thing it does is, inadvertently (he calls it a poltergeist) music or talking would come out of the speakers, I would start taskman and nothing would be running, no idea where it came from. I turned off vaio messenger, I still don't know why it does it. I have used your help before and I want you to know how much you are appreciated by people like me. Thank you so much for everything you do.
Let me know what else to post that I may have forgotten.

    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar
      ) and choose Paste.
    • Now click the large http://forums.majorgeeks.com/chaslang/images/MoveIt!.png button.
    • If OTM asks to reboot your computer, allow it to do so. The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot.
    • Close OTM.
Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be
saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach
this log file to your next message.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles log
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Here are the files you requested. Not sure yet how this laptop is working, he's been scared to do anything and I haven't been home. I will say I haven't heard the poltergeists on here today! LOL. He didn't say anything about it not booting up correctly. Hopefully the logs will tell you what you need to know and hopefully the zero access is gone too. You guys are GREAT!! Let me know when I can turn his virus protection back on, I told him NOT to go online at all till the virus was gone. I do know our protection is expiring soon and I'm thinking on possibly changing to another AV program, any suggestions as to which is the best? Last year y'all said SuperAntiSpyware was a good one and that's what I bought. Thanks again for your help. He just told me that he kept getting an error message about a dll missing and it happened again when he booted up today but I don't remember seeing it after I ran the 2 programs and rebooted. I will reboot again after I send this message and see if it happens.

You're logs look good now so I have to defer to you to tell me if any problems remain now after rebooting.

SuperAntiSpyware is not an antivirus program. It is an antispyware program only. What is best is subjective and could change several times per month with various updates? In reality the all provide some level of protection which is needed, but none of them are perfect. In fact they are far from it. A major reason why forums like this exist! ;) However Avira has been getting good ratings for awhile. You may want to check it out.

So far everything is working good :) Thanks!!! I goofed, we use AVG for virus and AntiSpyware for what it's supposed to be used for. I am thinking about Kaspersky for AV, I will check out Avira now, thanks again :) I will go ahead and turn back on real time protection on everything. Hope you have a great holiday and Merry Christmas to you and yours :) Please keep up the great work and service you do for us not so smart computer people :) Anyone that gives ya'll grief needs to have their head examined.

You're welcome. Happy Holidays to you too. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    3. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    4. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    5. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 6 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
