Good MMO's

I'm looking for a decent mmorpg, something that the players speak English. The last game I played(still kind of do) they spoke primarily Filipino and a few other languages. Was a good game, but seeing as I only speak/understand English you can see the barriers there are.

I've looked, but mostly I've found client based ones, and ones that don't speak English. This isn't the greatest description of what I'm looking for I know, but it's all I can think of right now with me being sick.

The game I mentioned was Godswar Online.

I play The Secret World and find it to be a welcome change from the likes of Warcraft etc. it actually involves some thought and its setting is pretty unique being based on earth in the present day.

It's recently gone buy to play so there are no subscriptions just buy the game and play which has brought many new players into the game. For 15-20 pounds for the box it's pretty good value.

I have accounts in WOW (doesn't everyone?), Star Trek Online and Star Wars The Old Republic but out of them TSW is the best.

Define "decent". Are you looking for a subscription model, or free-to-play that funds itself with micro-transactions? What kind of setting and gameplay are you looking for?

Wow I must be tired I thought I put that. I was looking for a free-to-play. Maybe browser based, just to keep my computer with little installed. Gameplay I'll try to explain it the best I can, 2D or 3D doesn't matter, preferably have an alliance or guild system in place, maybe a pet system, grinding levels doesn't matter really.
    Very vague, I know.
I've tried like maple story, Ragnarok, and Runescape and didn't like them much.

I have no experience with any browser-based MMOs, but Lord of the Rings Online has a low-res texture download for low-end PCs and it runs fine on my old desktop with a Pentium 4 CPU and 2GB memory. Runs of Magic plays like a free version of WOW, according to those who tried both, and if I recall correctly it lets you dual-class your character, the only MMO I've seen that allows that. Both have guilds, though LOTRO calls them Fellowships, and LOTRO is also a lot less punishing towards players who refuse to spend money in the in-game shop. Both games have large US-based communities.

Ahh, I had forgotten about LOTRO I'm gonna check that one out.
What would you suggest for a client based game then?

Both the ones I suggested are client based. ;)

To be honest, my first suggestion whenever someone asks for a free MMO is LOTRO. It used to be monthly sub, went F2P a couple of years ago, and has done a lot better since, according to Turbine. Big and friendly community, familiar setting that they didn't have to spend resources creating, and the gameplay is easy to get into. If you do a lot of soloing, or if you don't plan to pay a lot, start with a ranger, they don't need a lot of expensive things to be good.

Here, review and game-play video :)

Can you switch classes? Like if I was just going to try it out, I'd take your advice and try a Ranger, but say I liked it could I switch the character to say a tanking class without starting over?

What's the other one you listed play like?

In Runes of Magic, yes. In LOTRO, no. Part of the reason you can't do that in LOTRO is each class has its own story, and the prologue right after creating your character is an important part of that.

RoM was ridiculously easy to figure out and get hooked on, so I'm guessing it's exactly like WoW. LOL

I started as a tank, then switched to cleric, and ended up with a spell caster that could hit hard, take a hit, and heal herself whenever she needed to. I dropped it because it's very grueling to advance without microtransactions, or at least it was back then. If you don't mind using them though, it's one of the most popular F2P MMOs out there, and for good reasons.

Personally I don't spend cash on game like this, don't have it to spend Haha.
I'll check them both out sometime.
    Thank you Mimsy.
