USB in car stero, isnt reliable

I have a 2012 ford fusion with Sync and a USB port for a jump/flash drive
I put in the drive and I tell the car to "play track Hollerback girl" OR I'll say, "play artist gwen stefani"
and the music starts playing

then I the forward button and the track goes to the next song, but since I told it to play that song, it just starts over.
SOMETIMES
Othertimes it will go to the next track

I dont think I am using different words...does anyone know how to get it to go forward/to the next track without me saying, "play all" wherein I start at the very beginning??

I want to have it play a specific track, then be able to play other songs without saying anything just hitting the forward button

well crud,
I loved the drag and drop (from computer to jump drive) and I have no idea how to make a playlist.
