There is a good way to keep your computer super cool in the winter time just open a window lol or stick it out side No need for fans I do this in the winter time to get fresh air in the house it drops my cpu temp like 10F right now with window open it is at 45F Easy to over clock.

Or simply get with the 21st Century and invest in water cooling, LoL! :p Over here, if it's cool, it's usually raining, so I wouldn't hang the P.C. out the window, eh. LOL

    Hydrogen gas cooling!
Just run the gas outside through a radiator and back in.
Liquid cooling is not cutting edge any more because it cannot cover all components like a chilled gas.

I normally have my case opened. My H70 doesnt fit in my case so I had to leave a side off till I muster up enough energy to transfer everything to a new case. Dust does pick up quicker but it is easier access to do weekly if not daily cleaning

I thought about hooking up some sort of rig with tubing and insulation/plastic since my computer is relatively close to the window.

I live in minnesota, so it's about 10 to -20 most of the time. I figure I'll put a filter on the end to make sure there is no moisture getting in.:cool

If you do this post some pictures. Would like to see how you pull this off.

Will do. The hardest thing is insulating the rest of the window, considering it's probably about 5 feet high.

Do you guys think it's alright to just unhook the fan I have that's making a ton of noise? http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1800427#post1800427

I have two other fans, this one is just a big one on the side. I have it somewhat against a wall to get it to be a little less noisy, and it doesn't seem to effect the temps.

Sorry if I'm hijacking your thread, I am just a bit desperate.:(

I unplugged it and everything is fairly stable,

    CPU 17C
Motherboard 34C (up maybe 2C but stable)
    Hard drive 29C

I plan on replace it entirely with a water cooled system.
Maybe I'll find a way to put the radiator outside to cool the intake of water.
