Hey guys. I've been having serious problems with my computer lately. I'll guide you through exactly what happens. I turn on my machine, enter my password at the login screen. Up until now, things are running smoothly. My desktop and icons pop up fairly fast but that is when things start to go downhill. The time between all of my icons being displayed and me being able to either open a web browser, open any program or even the start menu is sometimes five minutes. It used to be seconds. A week ago I had quite a few PUP.FaceThemes warnings when I scanned with Malware Bytes. I removed them yet the problem persists. I attached the logs requested as per the Read Me First thread.

I hope I have explained the details well enough.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Run Hitman Pro again and allow it to fix all those Potential Unwanted Programs it found. The bProtector one can cause many problems including slow downs. And Claro is no help either. After fixing, reboot your PC and run a new scan with Hitman and attach the new log.

Also tell me if anything improved?

Why don't you have any restore points?

Also note that you did not disable UAC as requested.

It looks like whatever Hitman Pro discovered and fixed cured my machine. I thank you very much sir.

Yes, I do realize I need to add restore points. That could probably alleviate issues like this in the long run.

I usually have Avira free running as my antivirus. Would you consider that a good program to use?

    You're welcome.

Yes it is one of the ones we recommend as you will see in the link provided below.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Go back to step 4 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
