What were your exact problems that cause you to reinstall? Would Windows not run at all? Could you not log in? Did safe mode work?......etc.

What malware jumped up? Exactly what are you referring to? Did you mean that actual malware opened up or are you referring to something else and not telling us exactly what you are referring to?

Also what is the D drive and why did you clean it out to when you reinstalled?
Is it a separate physical drive or is it just a different partition on the same physical drive?

Probably still best to run the below

I had a virus on my c drive, kapersky kept popping up and telling me
i had viruses, I kept running the scanner and it kept cleaning it,
but the virus kept coming back, I don't know what virus I had, but
when I tried to find these files on my hard drive they weren't there,
not even in the hidden files. I tried to go into safe mode but I
couldn't get into safe mode, my computer was slow and I was getting lots
of errors, and things wouldn't run, I attempted to do the read and
run me first from this site, but couldn't download anything
to fix my computer, so I formatted my c drive.

My D drive is on the same hard drive as my C, it is partitioned, It
is where I stored my pics and everything I wanted to keep, I have
done this before with no problems.

So now with my fresh install of windows xp home, I again did the read
and run me first, downloaded everything, did all the scans, then I
tried to open my D drive and malware bytes popped up and said I had a
    virus D:\dlkvf.pif Malware.Packer.Gen

I will again run the read and run my guide again. I kept all my logs and everything from first run, there was nothing found the first time.

This is just not good enough anymore as there are dozens of infection that infect partitions and/or Master Boot Records. So just formatting will not fix these kinds of infections. I'm not saying you have one, I'm just saying they do exist and if you did have one, a format would not remove it.

Attach the logs when you finish.
