Lightscribe problem - general failure

After not using Lightscribe for a few months, I attempted to burn a label today and, after creating my label, I hit Preview/Print and the preview was blank. I tried uninstall/reinstall but no help. I tried to find Lightscibe's download and support page and they seem to have fallen off the edge of the Earth. All links to their site just fail to load.

Is there a freeware or open source app that will at least allow me to burn labels on 150 blank Lightscribe blanks?

 

Addendumb: Lightscribe is not finding a Lightscribe compatible burner. The drive plays and burns CDs and DVDs perfectly. It just will not burn labels. Yes, I have the label side down!

 

Have you burned lightscribe with the dvd burner before? Not all dvd burners support lightscribe? Search on here for the nero info tool and it will tell you if it suports lightscribe.

 

Yes, I have burned Lightscribe disks and labels before without incident. Now I get an error saying that "a compatible drive/burner not found."

I found "Audio Burner", a freeware Lightscribe app, but when I go to Print, I get the error saying "a compatible drive/burner not found."

The burner works in all other modes. It will play/burn CDs and DVDs without a problem. The Lightscribe burner was factory-installed hardware on my HP Windows 7/64 computer. Is it possible that the driver became corrupted and needs updating?

 

Possible, which is why i suggest you run the nero info tool, and see what windows thinks your burner supports.
