How can I ELIMINTE this VOL "Chime" SOUND?

I've attempted to track-down the tweak to adjust this "Chime" sound/NOISE (please see screenshot below) that occurs every time I adjust the volume to "OFF", to no avail.

Can anyone help? Please??

 

are you saying when you have the slider all the way down it still chimes?

 

Thanks for the reply, but no sir, it doesn't make any noise when the slider is all the way down, but I don't need it (and do not want it) to chime at all, if at all possible.

I can see the slider just fine, and I can (if there is volume playing) hear whether or not the volume has been raised or lowered. The chime just plays (makes noise!) over top of what I'm listening to... it blocks what I wish to hear, with a chime that I do not want to hear. It gets in the way, as far as I'm concerned. And (I'm guessing at this) it's probably using resources that could be much better used elsewhere

It just seems like yet one more irritant that come-along with Windows 8 (that I just don't care for), to me...?

 

you can turn it off by going to control panel, sound, sounds tab, select Default Beep and change sound to none.

 

Perfect! Thanks very much..i had gone in there but was looking for a selection other than Default Beep.
