Takes 5 min for pc to install usb drive

When i put a usb stick in a usb port i get a popup at the bottom saying this device will preform faster if i cinnect it to 2,0 (or something like that) then about 3-4 min later it will load the usb so i can use it?before i reformatted this pc running xp it never took this long for the pc to load a usb ,is there a way to get this to load a pen drive faster??

 

That error is telling you the port is using an earlier version of USB.

Why did you reformat? That should always be a last resort as you lose everything - including your drivers. Did you reload all the motherboard drivers after you reformatted?

 

yes in device manger all drivers are good,i reformatted it because it hard malaware in it and it was just really slow.

Right. As I noted above, it thinks you are connecting to a slower USB 1.0 port.
