I was watching some lectures on my tv via HDMI from my computer as I walked on the treadmill
    my tv was working fine
then it went to a plastard look, like paint thrown on the screen
I have no SD card slot or way of uploading my cellphone pic of the screen:-o

I still get sound, so I think the HDMI cord is working
the tv works fine on other channels
I just cant get the video to show up via HMDI from my computer as it did this morning?
    any thoughts about wtf happened?

when I unplug the HDMI cord from the TV or computer, the screen goes black, as it should...

I think my HDMI cord died?
I unplugged it all, turned off the computer and restarted the computer, now the HDMI cord won't show the screen or the sound

no, I think this has to do with My computers screen setttings, I have a XP computer and the HMDI card/port was added and I tried to make the screen resolution better, so I would be able to fit the whole page from the internet into the screen, so I played with it, and now I have HMDI issues

I have no clue what to do except frustrate myself my playing with it again

I have the TV working with the XP computer and my lectures yesterday

Then the TV screen looked like a big white/blue spitball hit it and it wouldnt work

I messed with the Display properties, nothing

    I gave up

today my messing with it caused the TV not to show anything from the computer

I fixed that and when the computer is booting, the tv shows what the computer screen shows, WINDOWS XP

then once its done booting, the "big white/blue spitball hit it " returns and it only shows black

    any thoughts?

I have no clue what happened here
    why my HDMI worked
    why my HMDI stopped working
why my HDMI link works again

it works now.... beats the fudge outta me:-D

Its not working....the TV is connected to my computer via HDMI cord and it works when I start the computer up.
It shows the WINDOWS at the start up,
    http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z271/watchntv/p_00609_zps24b20255.jpg

then the TV screen shows a blue/red blotch

What did I do to make it not show/use the computer screen as a monitor?

I went through the trouble shooting guide via Display properties and i cannot figure it out
It was just working, maybe the display properties are wrong?
    I have a few options
    screen resolution
    -extend monitor or not

these are the only options Ive ever changed, Ive never messed with the refresh rate, etc
I can hit Identify the monitors and it shows me a one and 2, so I just dont know whats what
    any help please?

Have you tried uninstalling your current driver and then reinstalling the latest driver?

No, I have not tried that...the reason being I had it working just fine twice now

    somehow

I finally did something that worked, I unplugged my main monitor and only have the TV screen plugged into the HMDI port and now my TV is my main monitor
so it works. I am using my other computer to type this

Bad driver would have been the very first thing I would have been looking at, second would be a bad video card if this is a PC, or bad port if a laptop.

the problem I have is it worked before, I mean ,I did something to the something to cause it not to work. so I didnt think of anything else
now I gotta figure out why i can play a dvd on my windows 7 wmp but the version 11 wmp on my XP.
even the vcl player wont play the dvd dang it

Again, your issue may be driver related, bad video card causing this. Until you uninstall the driver and let Windows load the default driver, you cannot start troubleshooting, and all you can do is keep taking wild guesses.

BTW, what is the exact info for this video card shown in Device manager?

The argument that "it worked before, so I am not going to try your suggestion" doesn't hold water just about..well anywhere. If things didn't break, we would never need to fix them. This board wouldn't exist. You wouldn't be here right now. But back to reality: things break all the time.

Fix it or don't. But don't let stubborn reasoning get in the way of a potential solution.

You open Device manager, find the Video & monitor devices, right click on those devices, go to Uninstall, click on that, and it will uninstall the device & driver. Reboot, and the machine will find the default driver.

As for the Yahoo Answer's link, I would say that the info given in there is legit. You can also find the same info if you would have just done a search on here, than using some search engine.
