win8 folder and files could not be copied or moved

:yumGood day everybody.

I recently upgraded to win 8 installed on c:, I have folder and files on d: could not be copied or moved.
I tried to do my best including unlucker that can be copied/moved to different location but still blocked.
Also tried to play with propriety to uncheck read only option also with no luck as well as EMCO MoveOnBoot.

Please help.

Did you try taking ownership of the folders that you wish to access? What OS did you previously have on the machine?

Hit windows key + X. Bottom left corner you should see pic1. Click yes to the popup (if UAC is turned on).

Then type in:
D:
takeown /f * /r

This should give you ownership rights to the administrator account.

To grant YOU access to said files do the following:

icacls * /t /grant %computername%\%username%

Sinan, perhaps you could clarify about your Windows 8 installation:

How many User Accounts are on the machine?

Have you verified that your account is an administrator-level account?

It is only single user (sinan) and it is administrator-level account.

You could always try using a bootable linux distro like Puppy Linux. The main file browser will basically ignore any file permissions and allow you to copy the files to wherever you like.
Just download the slacko-5.5-4G.iso and burn it as an image file to a CD. Then boot your computer from the CD.

You may have to boot into Safe mode to do this, since the way Microsoft has mad it hard to elevate privileges of late with Windows 7 & 8. Also this should work still for Win8 http://www.preyerplanning.com/take-ownership-of-entire-hard-drive-in-windows-7.pdf

unlucker only unlucking a file in each operation.
