Can't connect to ADSL internet...

    Hello everyone!!!!

    I really need your help...The problem is that a few months ago we got ADSL internet and it has worked beutifully until 5 days ago it suddenly stopped working.....we called the provider but they said that the phone line was working fine....that the internet is working fine.....but my computer can not connect to it.....but the problem is it is not just my computer my sisters apple and the computer of our neighbours also can not connect to the internet.....we have a D-link modem when it is turned on the DSL indicator just keeps blinking and we also bought a new modem Netgear but when we plug it in the DSL indicator isnt even on....I really need your help i have no idea whats going on.:confused....:(From what i understand the problem is with modem because it cant find the DSL connection....I would really appreciate your help.....

    If it is a problem with my computer then i wouldn't be able to connect to other WiFi right? But i can easily connect to other WiFi.....and it also seems doubtful that none of the computers and mobile phones can connect to it...Could it have something to do with DSL sync?Because as i said the DSL light on my modem just keeps blinking....Also on the modem status page the ip adress is listed as 0.0.0.0 or ----------.....but i've tried to insert them manually but still nothing i've also tried reinstalling my wireless adapter and typing ip renew in cmd but still nothing.....Please help me....i really am at a loss here....at least tell me what you think is the problem.........

    It would appear that the ADSL modem is not connecting to the network. That is surprising that your ISP will not help you with this problem. Was the ADSL modem manually reset for some reason? Generally, the modem needs to logon to the ISP network with a userid and password. Have you checked that?

    No it hasn't been reset and i've checked the username and password they are in the modem settings...the ISP keep telling us that they dont know and that its probablly the computer problem but can 4 computers have the same problem at the same time + we can connect to other wifis....appearently after the internet dissapeared and my sisters apple computer showed some kind of window with ip configuration ******** in use by **.**.**.**.** DHCP server ****** but all ips seem to match with the ones in router settings...i really dont understand....

    Turn off all the other machines except one and then see if that changes anything. The fact that one machine has complained about duplicate IP addresses could be an issue.

    ok let's start at the top and work with one computer since they are all failing.

    1. Wire a computer to the modem/router. Can you access the Internet?
    2. Type "ipconfig /all" and post results.
    3. Type "nslookup Microsoft.com" and post results


    BTW a blinking DSL indicator says the modem/router can not synchronize with the provider. You will not get off the ground until you get a steady indicator light. If your light is still blinking, call your ISP again.

    Your DSL and Internet lights must be solid green or its a modem or ISP issue.

    As jconstan says you should connect your computer to the modem using an Ethernet cable. Now check if you can go online. If it is not online, you should definitely inform ISP and don't agree when they say the line is fine. It is ISP's duty to make sure users can online when a computer is connected to the modem.
