Recently I downloaded a UBCD and created an ISO image for it. When I tried this on my computer it failed to boot.

I had previosly created a UBCD from another machine and it worked fine.

It could be that the file size was to large and the bandwidth to low, only one mb per second. Perhaps their are errors introduced with the down load.

Also, it is possible that ISO software introduced errors.

    What do you think?:confused

If it is for Xp you might need to re copy and use the SP2 version and Windows 7 Sp1.I tried this my self be for and i did not have Xp SP2 and would not run.

Did you download an .iso and burn it or create your own .iso?
What software are you using to burn with?

The .iso at http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html doesn't need anything done to it, just burn it to blank media.

The software I use is XP SP 3 and CD Burner XP. I understand that a mistake was made when I tried to create an ISO when this was not necessary. I will download this again.

when you download ImgBurn and do the install, check that .iso files are associated with ImgBurn. You can undo this later, but you may wish to leave it.

Then merely double click the .iso you downloaded and ImgBurn will open. Settings should be fine at that point, burn away.

When first using ImgBurn the CD produced booted only as far as the first line: ISOLINUX 4.06 2012-10-23 ETCH. Later Img disappeared after using System Restore to eliminate a constant clicking sound in Explorer after downloading some programs. Next a new program was downloaded, Active@ISO Burner. This program when used provided the same results as Img. As far as associations go, this is something I should check next time but had no problem opening the program. The ISO file provides a choice of which burner to associate with.

I downloaded ImgBurn again, burned the ISO, and booted it up, successfully. The interface was very different from the one described via the links provided me. The version I have is (2.5.7.0). The procedure I used was correct except for the write speed. I had thought possible to write the ISO to disk at a much higher speed because of the rated speeds of the CD player and the disk itself. I do not no why.

Thank you very much for your help!
