Print spooler problem

Hello, I followed instructions on an earlier thread, and was able to get spooler service working, I am more concerned with how it stopped in the first place, Any suggestion? thank you for your time and expertise, LiveKarl

 

Did you try uninstalling the printer and all associated software, then reload the driver software after a reboot? What is the make & model# of the printer, what Operating System do you use, how is it connected to the computer?

 

Hi Ok I uninstalled printer software. because I did not know what the spooler was, then updated said software after finding out what the spooler was, I have an epson R380, it is connected via USB cable I am running XP Sp3. It is working I'm just curious why it would stop, I think my son is trying to print from his MAC, but we're too ensconsed in PC's and I haven't a clue what to do with his Comp and after his attempt to print the printer crashed I'd say for a lack of a better explanation. does any of this help? thanks again for your attention.

 

Print spooler issues show up when drivers go bad. That is most likely what happened. The spooler is just a software interface to cache data that is to be processed for printing.

 

Make sure your son has the correct Epson R380 printer driver installed on HIS computer.

Epson has drivers available for Linux, Macintosh OSX 10.2 through 10.8 and Windows 98 through Windows 8 both 32 bit and 64 bit here.
