I have a couple favorite words that I try to fit in sentences any time I can. I don't know why I love these words so much, maybe because they are fun to say.

    In no particular order;

Shenanigans - This is a multipurpose word. I use this one often because of how broad shenanigans can be!

Shunned - I am always telling one of my friends they are shunned for some reason or another and only I hold the power to shun. :-D

Nefarious - Best action word ever. Saying something is nefarious is much cooler than saying something is bad or evil!

Woe - Sure I could ask someone listen to my problem but it's much more fun to ask them to listen to my tales of woe. :-D

Who else has favorite (clean :p) words? I can't the only one can I? LOL

Serendipity Just because it has a lovely meaning and it's lovely to say

Stuff Sometimes I think I have too much stuff plus other stuff that is going on in my life can be so exhausting I feel stuffed, that's when I stuff myself with chocolate and icecream. Don't give me that stuff about putting on weight because I don't give a stuff.
    Just kidding :-D

    Frivolous Sigh, ho hum

Betwixt I don't mind which, I'm not being lazy, I really don't mind (often to do with a frivolous matter)

Gallivant Oh what fun. Could be used in the same sentence as shenanigans

Fickle I often say "You are soooooo fickle" to friends in a joking manner when they have a change of mind or heart

There are others but they are hard to think of out of context but when the moment arises the appropriate favorite word comes to mind

Being under 25 and stuff, it would be, like, expected for me to post that my favourite word, like, to use in a sentence and stuff would be "like" however I don't like using like in all my, like, sentences and stuff. You know what I mean?

Seriously, I hate the way "young people" use "like. These days my favourite word is likely to be "damn" or "why doesn't that work?" or "oops"

Oh yes! How could I forget this word? I love using this word! LOL

I also like saying, in reference to passage of time, that something was "many moons ago".

@collinsl, I hate that too but then again I'm old and hate teenagers period. :-D

"Noodge" as in "Stop being a noodge (total pest)" by either staring at me nonstop until I give in (my dog wanting his dinner), or by incessantly begging for something I've already said no to (my kids).

Ponder, interweb, pontificate, 'yes, in theory' (phrase not a word), and plethora. Plethora is only effective if used very judiciously. Most of my other words would not be acceptable on a family type website. :-D

    Pontificate.

    Somnolent.

    Independent.

And that four-letter word that beings with f and rhymes with suck, because that has got to be the most versatile word in the English language, from a grammatical/syntactical point of view. That makes my inner language geek purr.

I am also inordinately fond of the Swedish words "lagom" and "sagolik" and wish that either one of them had an accurate and exact equivalent with the exact same meaning, in English.

I have many favourite words that I use but my top 10 polite ones are:-
anæmic when something is pale or sickly
doohickey for a gadget or some part of a complicated machine
fæces instead of s#*t when being polite
puerile to describe someone who is childish or immature
congress for describing having sex instead of using the word rhyming with puck
    masticating instead of chewing
candor meaning, when speaking, to be frank and sincere
bangers or snags for sausages (bangers are fat ones and snags are thin ones)
whizbang to describe something top quality with all the "bells and whistles"
    jalopy to describe old cars

Sorry America all words are spelled in English LOL

    Cheers :drink

    I do like arcane . . . and pedantic (which, after a few beers, I have been accused of becoming . . . :-o).

Do made up words count? If so I list Exhaustipated (too tired to give a crap :-D) I LOVE that word.

What do those mean? Google translates these as "moderate" and "fairytale". However, it also translates "lagom" as "moderately" and "sagolik" as "fabulous".

I tend to make up a lot words myself, and then my friends steal them because I use them all the time. :-D

I remembered another favorite word of mine: preposterous!

I am shocked! I did not think you knew that word... It is in common use where I work. Few words are so versatile. :-D

"Lagom" does not mean moderate or moderately. It's hard to explain because to me it's so obvious, and there is no word in English for this concept.

It refers to an amount of something, either something tangible like food or spices, or something like time or happiness or what have you. When you have a lagom amount of salt on your meal, you have the exact right amount that you want. What's a lagom amount of salt for me is not the same as a lagom amount for someone else, but we'd both use the word lagom to describe how much salt we use, since both amounts are lagom.

"A bit lagom" is a smaller amount than lagom, of course, and if I tell another Swede that I want a lagom splash of milk in my coffee, they're very likely to get the amount right.

It is really hard to explain.

"Sagolik" derives from "saga", which is a fairytale (or an old viking tale, but in this context it's a fairytale). In Swedish, putting -lik at the end of a word changes its meaning to "to be like <word>". So if something is sagolik, that means it's fairytale-like, like something out of fairytale. It is used to describe anything from moments, to abstracts things, to object. So a marriage proposal, a sunset, and a pair of earrings can all be sagolik, each in their own way.

I took English in high school. I know all the dirty words. ;)
