.... Looks good - I like it ..easier to look at. And one go can look at the first entry back in 2002 . :major

Since sub-forums were rearranged, will the look of the Main Support Forum and sub-forums page change too? Or one step at a time?

I use IE 8 at work (no other browser can be used) and notice on the status bar that reads with the yellow triangle, "Done, but with errors on page".

.... or is it a vBulletin thing?

I am loving the change to the type of font and clarity.

The pages at the top will make navigation better for searching as well.

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

First thing I noticed when I visited after a brief absence. Love the uncluttered look, clean lines. As a dabbler in website design, I really appreciate the efforts to visually upgrade a site when feasible.

    Great job! ;)

Great to see you're back Caliban! :) Where did your blog go? I had it bookmarked and used to visit it. Installed the Convert app that you had in there, works wonderful. Thanks!

Yeah, MG site has improved although now I have to scroll to the right to see it all because I just have a 5:4 19" monitor.

Check your View and/or Zoom setting.

I have a 5:4 19 inch and it fits with room to spare, with both Opera and Pale Moon.

Thanks mjnc. It is the extension NoSquint that's causing that. It only happens on the home page and top downloads that I needed to do the horizontal scrolling. Not on the forums though. I had all on 130% for easier reading, now on 120% and so a bit less scrolling. If used as a 100% (normal) I won't be able to read. Old age, of that I'm sure. :-D

    Hi Oma.

If you are using Pale Moon or Firefox, can't you select View -> Zoom Text Only?

I tried it out with PM and the page width still fits at +30%.

Hi mjnc, thanks. I've got it now just the way I like it. I don't mind the little bit of horizontal scrolling that I have to do when visiting the home page and the top downloads page. What good would it do if no horizontal scrolling is needed but then one can't read the text? :-D

Other than the obvious changes on the Home page, the change that really jumped out at me is the page displayed at the start
    of a download.

It looks so much cleaner, brighter and "uncluttered" as Caliban mentioned.

I also like the "breadcrumbs" near the top so you know where you are, where you've been and have direct access to get back.

    Hi, Oma...

Glad you could use Convert - handy little program. I've had some continuing problems with my site host - as soon as things get ironed out I'll let you know.

So the hand grenades are gone and the design got wider as did the monitors.

Interesting name. I think geeks recycle.

If you find a good one, let us know.

I like the new page design, but have one gripe - for years, I've used majorgeeks as the site to go to for downloading tools for my (also listed) BootZilla project. Now that the page has been redesigned, my old way of linking to downloads doesn't work. I was using Ketarin and a template that scraped each page for the links. It doesn't look like that's allowed anymore, so I have to re-invent how I was distributing files.

Ideally, I'd like to keep most of the files hosted on MG, to alleviate bandwidth issues and move more people over to the site, but I don't know of any easy way to do that now. I guess I'll send an email over to Tim & Jim regarding this, since I'm not sure if what I was doing was ok in the first place - the new page certainly has more space for ads and such, which I assume is why I can't scrape the page anymore - which is fine - I want to support MG as much as possible, as I've followed these guys since tweakfiles :p

hey jimmsta -- all old links should work, so I'm confused.

drop me an email directly (jim @ ) and we'll see what we can figure out.

I've been away for a while, since before the changes here, so I don't know if theses concerns apply.

First, I can't attach pictures. There was an error message last night that I can't remember now, but today it just said upload failed.

I tried to thank individual posters in my "Gramps" thread. The button disappeared but no "thanks" appeared.

Last night when I tried to edit a post I had to go advanced. I couldn't edit on the first page. I get this message.
"You do not have permission to perform this action. Please refresh the page and login before trying again"

I don't stay logged in. Sometimes I'll go to another page and have to sign in again.

    Thanks for any help.
