Write 8GB ISO & VIDEO_TS to 1-layer DVD

I have two DVD images I want to write, one is an 8GB ISO file and the other is a 6.7GB VDEO_TS folder, with the usual contents. However, I have a conventional single-layer DVD writer.

Does anyone know if this is possible. If so, how or with what software.

It's not possible to burn those size files to a single layer DVD. The single layer DVD has a capacity of only 4.7 GB.

However, a DL DVD has a capacity of 8.5 GB and there should be no problem burning your files to those.

I don't know what type of computer you have but there are DL burners available on eBay, Amazon, newegg and other locations. Choose one that's appropriate for your computer if you want to use the drive as an internal drive (like your current drive) or select one that connects via USB.

Thanks for the response. However I either didn't make myself very clear, or you are implying that I can't achieve what I want. I would like to be able to burn the files either to two single-layer DVDs that can subsequently be viewed on a PC.

I have only two such DVDs so the expense of a dual-layer drive isn't really justified.

Sorry for being unclear in my original post.

You were clear in what you wanted to do and I wasn't implying anything. Those files are simply too large to burn to a single layer DVD.

There are file compression utilities that may shrink the files down to 4.7 GB or less but they wouldn't be viewable on your computer in compressed form. You would have to decompress the files to your hard drive to be able to play them OR burn them to dual layer DVDs in their current form.

    I stand corrected. Sorry.:-o

Have a look at this post in another forum and get DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter.
DVD Shrink is downloaded by a download manager that may offer third party software installation. So be observant when downloading.

Once again, sorry for my thick headed error and I hope this helps. :)
