Fry's 1985 ad (OUCH!)

    Found this on Facebook. It's the original grand opening ad from 1985 for Fry's Electronics.

    If you think computer stuff is expensive now, take a look. Yesteryear's "bargains" include a $319 CRT monitor, a $379 VCR and blank VHS tapes for the incredible blowout price of $3.88 each.

    Back when companies used to make money selling electronics.

    "IBM PC $1795"....I'd love to see the specs on that.

    Yeah, I was gonna say that at least the candy bars are a good price, ($0.20c each, yum! .:drool) .roflmao.

    (P.S.:- I guess that they don't sell many 51/4" DS/DD disks for $5.95 any more....Or you can buy a massive 256k of RAM for $4.99 .0_o.)
