Handgun Class This Weekend!

I am so fired up for this! #2 of a 3 part handgun class my friend teaches.

Good peeps, good training. Can hardly wait! Plus going to a Beer Firkin on Thursday.

I don't mix the ammo and the beer... :-D

Finally get to wear that pair of tacticool pants I got on sale...:-D

 

Bring your own rags and lube kinda class:confused I'm there I like to take extra so there's plenty for everyone.

Nah have fun, I'd love a day at the handgun range.

Before you rush out to get the super size jug-o-lube, you should know you will be dealing with at least 10 armed folks in Texas. In an empty quarry...:-D

Looks like you'll be having fun! I've been trying to find a class near me but not having much luck. Darn it why don't I live down south? :-D

But seriously sounds like great fun we don't have concealed carry in Australia unless you are in the police or a government agent, either the Feds or ASIS or ASIO so these sorts of courses are never available to the public.
It is so hard just to have any sort of handgun or rifle in Australia and even if you manage to satisfy all the legal requirements then most of the choice weapons are banned items and unavailable for public use :cry

Maybe I should move to the USA although info from the papers over here indicate it is a bit windy over there at the moment so I would need to choose a good safe state to live

 

Look for NRA classes. http://www.nrainstructors.org/searchcourse.aspx The class I am going to this weekend is not an NRA class, but the instructor is also an NRA instructor. It is going to be a lot of fun, will get to fondle a couple of guns I have been thinking about getting. :-D

 

Yes, OK got hit by one hell of a tornado. I guess we like variety, so we have 50 states. Some in our gubment think we have 57 states. :-D

 

Wouldn't be the first time an Englishman in the US was surrounded by 10 armed Americans:-D

Thanks to your link I was able to find the place I had bookmarked earlier but lost and couldn't find again.

My friend and I have birthdays in the same month and we tend to do something together. We've both always wanted to go to a shooting range so I figured I'd try and find a class for us to go to get some training. Provided I have a job by then and can afford it. :-D

 

Cool! Keep in mind a lot of the NRA instructors teach other classes. You might get more range time in a private or smaller class. :major

Well, got to Dallas, and after we loaded up my friends truck, it started raining like crazy in Georgetown, so that class was canceled.

So maybe some range time in Dallas on Saturday, then I head home. Dang weather and stuff...

 

Shame your lesson was cancelled but I guess sh!t happens

Maybe you need an Aussie stormy weather staple........a Drizabone coat or jacket

These coats are really warm and waterproof plus you still get excellent freedom of movement and lastly they are really tough so if you go hunting in rough bush it won't get ripped or snagged by thorny plants

 

Would be a great coat if I had a horse... I was for having the class, but I don't work there. I don't mind shooting in the mud and rain. It is a self defense class. What, you only need your side arm when it is sunny and nice outside?

Oh well, the class will be rescheduled.

Glad I was in Dallas area. The range is in Georgetown, but Texas got slammed.

Hmmm... for some reason I was always under the impression Texas was really hot and dry and mostly desert with tumbleweeds and stuff but I just checked Wikipedia and it states that less than 10% of Texas is desert :confused

I must have got this part of my education from the old westerns on TV rolleyes

 

The bad part of places like Texas is when it rains really hard, not as many rivers and such for the water to go. Spoken as a non expert. When I was in the desert of CA, hard rain washed out roads. Here in Louisiana, we get lots of rain, few problems unless you build in a lowland area...

Kinda like micro climates.

It actually went quite well, we won most of the battles until you got the French involved to bail you out. :-D:-D
