Which laptop to choose?

Question for the computer geeks:

Which one of the two laptops off groupon has the best value? Keep in mind both are refurbs and the reliability of this laptop holding up over the next few years is important to me.

I'd go with the HP, the specs seem better and my sister has one and it's a really nice machine.

 

The HP does have better statistics but I've had more luck with.

 

I've lost touch with computer specs. I see that the Toshiba has a better processor, but you're saying the other specs are better on the HP?

 

I don't think there is much difference between the i7 & the i5. I mean, of course the i7 is going to be a faster processor but it depends on what you plan on doing with your laptop. I myself have an i5 - as an example, I can play games (facebook, zynga), stream tv, read the news, surf pinterest, surf here all simultaneously with out any problems. This thing really is a beast.

The other things I like about the HP one is it has better graphics, hard drive, battery & external ports.

Again, what you plan on doing with it plays a big role. If it's just stuff like photo editing/surfing the web/watching videos/email/etc, the i5 will more than suffice. However, if you are a heavy gamer and/or frequently use video editing software, then you'd probably be better off with the i7.

This is only my opinion and my dealings with computers, however, this is the laptop you are going to have to use for years to come. So I'd suggest you pick the one that you like the best even if it isn't the "best". I tend to always go with my first instinct, and if I don't I usually end up regretting it.

Having had 3-4 recent HP machines, I say run away.

Look at ASUS and avoid both of those.
