XP Outlook Problem

I have windows XP on my desktop. Recently I cannot open any emails, when you try it goes directly to my web browser IE... Now I can't open any desktop shortcuts..

Any idea's ???

How full is your main hard drive?

If you haven't tried, you might find that chkdsk will solve your problems. Right click on your main drive->Properties->Tools->Error-checking. Check both boxes and click "Start"...

I do not quite understand your problem; you have Outlook (what version?) open, click to open a message from the Inbox, and you are redirected to IE?

Maybe the .msg file association is corrupted? What is it set to?

 

That also sounds like a file association problem; can you try a System Restore to a date before the problems started?

 

I'm using Outlook Express 6

I can't click on a shortcut on the desktop now either and open it...It goes right to my IE homepage also......

 

Outlook Express file type is .eml

Desktop shortcut file type is .lnk

PC make/model
processor
amount of RAM
main drive size/available space
operating system
