That's a tough answer. I have a different best movie in each genre I watch. I'm not the type of person to watch a movie more than once unless I really, really like it. So these are a couple of my favorites that I've watched more than once.

    Drama - Fireproof
    Drama/Comedy - Courageous
Comedy - Kung Pow: Enter the fist
    Foreign - 200 pounds beauty
Family - Despicable Me (I've only watched once but I would watch it again)
    Action/suspense - Taken
"Chick flick" (LOL) - It Could Happen to you
Historical (for the lack of better word): The dvd Hornblower series from A&E

I don't do horror or sci-fi, you're on your own with those. :-D

I want to see this! The second one coming out soon.

And you call yourself a geek?

    ;)

I love all the Iron Man movies including the newest one.
The new Star Trek movies are great.

Just watched "Salt" with Angelina Jolie. Pretty decent flick, not a spoiler since this comes out real early, but think "Manchurian Candidate" if you watch it. Plenty twists, good mix of action, well acted...

My friends and I were looking for something to watch a few weeks ago and we saw this was on demand. We all wanted to see it so we watched it, and it was really, really cute. I just heard yesterday they were making a second one! can't wait to see that one.

Sorry sometimes the realist in me outweighs the geek in me. :-D I just can't get behind things that I can't see happening in real life.

I go along with this. I'm a big fan of the originals (Wrath of Khan all the way!) but the new ones are ace.

Some Like It Hot (Jack Lemmon refers to Marilyn's gait at the train station as "Jello, with springs"). The Last Samurai (Not a Tom Cruise fan, but have watched this one dozens of times). The Shootist (The Dukes last movie)

Despicable me is awesome, I see Despicable Me 2 is out now, Gru is neat as the kids are cute as hell!

as for my liking I like a multitude of films from Star Trek to Despicable Me, not a great fan of musicals though.

The Shootist might have been his last, but it was also his worst. McClintock all the way.

Best action movie has to be Avengers. Just can't get enough of that one.

    Recently I liked Cloud Atlas.

I thought it would be a 3 hour romantic romp with Halle Berry and Tom hanks drooling over each other so I didn't bother seeing it but after a few mins there's blood flying and heads being lopped off which was awesome,,, and surprising:-D Pretty decent and original story, basically one story is told but using scenes from different points in time.

Too many great movies I've seen, therefore unable to pick one out.

Few days ago I saw on You Tube: Close Encounters of the Third Kind and enjoyed it. Like Sci Fi as well and movies from the forties and fifties.

I dislike any violent movies :pukesince there is already enough of it in reality.

The Sister act movies are my style of comedy.

Like OMA i am not into violent movies but they seem to be in the majority of films nowadays.

In the last 10 to 15 years they can only make movies with more and more violence and profanity, it has become acceptable but they just leave me cold.

Assassination of Jesse James is the best movie I have ever seen. Though I don't like long movies, this one managed to keep me glued. Another one of those Brad Pitt classics.

For me it has to be a toss-up between the Monty Python films (especially Holy Grail) and the Star Trek movies.

N.B. anything by JJ Abrams is NOT NOT NOT a Star Trek movie.

It's awesome to see other Strangelove fans:-D Not only is it my favourite Black and White movie it's probably in my top 20 or so for it's comedy and take on the madness of nuclear warfare.

You get 1 geek point if your under 40 and like Strangelove:-D

I agree 100%. Although I do like movies with some action in them, I don't like rampant violence/blood/gore. I also don't like movies with an abundance of profanity or adult content.

It's why I usually only watch children's movies or comedies.

I am an avid Duke Wayne collector, and have amassed 146 of 170 movies he has appeared in since 1928, when he started out as an *Extra* on several Silent and Silent/Talkie movies.
Its hard to pick out just one movie....I like several.....One of the fav's is "Red River" released in 1940. What a GREAT plot and Duke was uncharacteristically a hateful cattle trail boss. He and Montgomery Clift were a 10*. I have watched it many times......Try it if you can get a copy....Highly recommend it![/I][/B][/I][/I]

Bah. The Duke's best was McClintock.

And personally, I like violence in my movies. It's cathartic, and I like to see the bad guys get their due. The same reason I dislike courtroom dramas. On the other hand, I absolutely hate Horror movies.

    Good Morning Tiaxx2!

McClintock was an excellent one as well....Although it closely follows the
rich protagonist that we have seen many times throughout his career.

Red River gives us a different side of Wayne, with (like The Cowboys) a co-star(s) who assists Duke in getting the job done in the end....It is this slant in the plot that is refreshing, and keeps the viewer far more interested
as the movie (especially) draws to a close....
I take nothing away from the Hero/hierarchy Duke that he plays in many of
his outputs, I just enjoyed Red River, as Montgomery Cliff had to come to his rescue after Duke had one too many bottles and not enough sleep to drive the herd west for its well deserved payday!
