If you're really a computer geek, you know that if you install too many security programs it's actually worse than not having any at all, right? ;)

I agree with Sgt. Tibbs. What security programs? You want to harden your system, but not introduce problems.

That was my initial thought, but then there wasn't anything but that one goofy comment.

Most likely spam based on the other post I deleted, but I can't find anything on them, so giving them the benefit. If they don't come back, they'll be deleted.

I'm often looking at the forums late at night and I see these weird posts popping in sometimes.

I always wonder where do they come from?
Who would do that and why?
What is the purpose? What do they get out of doing that?

I just don't get it. What's the point?

I'm a geek and not only can I Not successfully install a hdd, but I believe in a zombie apocalypse. :-o

They come from the land of Spam.
    They would.
SEO crap. Mostly likely brings their search engine ranking up. (just guessing)

Since this one mentioned a specific security program (one of which I've never heard of) in his other post which I deleted, I'm thinking spam. But doesn't mean you can't have fun. :)

Welcome Chris, I have to say installing security programs is a great option but as mentioned do be VEY careful at what you install as too many security applications of the same ilk installed will not help you, they may in some instances be counter productive.

A great guide to read is this one HERE by our resident malware guru Chaslang, who is a Microsoft MVP in this area.
