Recovering photos deleted from iPod Touch

Not seen any software that can query the actual storage of an iPod Touch as its file system is HFS+ a funky Apple format.

I did try some random weird thoughts as in copying the whole DCIM folder to my PC and then running a recovery app, and well no go as I believe that once you delete on an Apple device its gone due to the nature of solid state storage (open to clarification on this)

BUT a few other thoughts are as I was moving some music onto my iPod Touch is do you have iTunes installed and iCloud enabled? if you do then its very possible your Picture may have been uploaded to the online storage, check here >>> http://www.apple.com/icloud/

One other thought was at times when an iPod or iPhone is plugged into a PC with iTunes installed, it creates a backup file, not easy to query these but this app HERE with a free trial (can recover max 50 files) may work "IF" the iPod was backed up after the deleted pictures where originally taken.

Yes the software I linked to just recovers files out of the iTunes backup file, sadly in your case the iPod was not connected to the PC to backup the iPod before the pictures where lost.

It does seem to be a lacking option to be able to easily recover data from mobile/portable devices, however I guess that's why the likes of Apple has now iCloud (I do hope you will now enable it for usage, I know closing barn door after horse bolted kind of thing) and on a iPod Touch to backup on the go, you would have to connect to a wifi source to allow the backup to work,

Microsoft has Skydrive to allow Windows Phones to backup data/pictures etc


Maybe that company does know of a direct from iPod recovery method, so worth waiting for the reply, do let me know.
