Question on adding a second ethernet card

Im woundering is it possible to run my pc and my xbox live through 2 different ethernet cards on the same computer?

 

If you've got an available PCI slot in your computer, you should be able to put in another PCI ethernet card. I used the available slot to put in a PCI USB 4 port card for extra USB connectivity.

 

What exactly are you trying to do? If you give some details about what it is your want to accomplish, I am sure we can help you out!

 

Not the wisest way to do it. Get a Router, do not try to use the computer as a router, unless you are planning on running pfSense, Smoothwall or m0n0wall on said computer.

 

what im trying to do is run my pc through 1 card and my xbox live through another.I dont want to use my routor .Im guessing if i put another card in the pci slot i would have to download a driver to run it.?

To answer your question simply ---- yes it is technically possible. Is there a reason you don't want to use the router?

Not going to happen with ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Lag is caused by overloaded servers or hosting systems, or bad routing, not by what equipment is on your end.

You will also find it very hard to setup ICS on a computer with a gaming system. No one has perfected the process yet.
