It is just a Public Announcement that is just letting everyone know there is some house keeping going on, eliminating old forums that are not see a lot of traffic.

All respect, if you mean you are closing the Software Forum at Major Geeks, I think it's a mistake. Personally, I wouldn't say that decreasing traffic is justification for closing the forum altogether. The topics that appear on this board cover a broad variety of subjects, and there are many subjects haven't even been covered here that I am sure users will discover in the future.

Rather than closing this forum, I suggest lowering its status/stature/profile some if you like. I understand the craving for knowledge when it comes to smart phones and tablets and so on, and it's more than a fad, but no way are these tiny devices going to replace the PC...

Just my 2 cents. I really love MajorGeeks, and I am sure you guys will do what's best for everyone.

The original reference was to the old Folding forum, I believe.

It's a forum naming reshuffle to keep things pertinent to current usage and more recent hardware, tablets and smartphones and stuff and some of the less well-used areas have been incorporated into new/different zones.

Thanks Brownizs...I remember that project. I thought that the reference to folding meant the the Software Forum here was "folding"...

Major Attitude, you scared me there dude...you should capitalize those forum names when you type them...rolleyes. Anyway, I personally think the changes are great that I have seen so far. Guess there will be a whole new type of guru for tablets and smart phones now...
