I'm getting this BSOD message everyday about 10 times a day. It seems mostly when I leave the computer idle
    for more than 10 minutes.

The BSOD doesn't mention any DRIVER error or other messages except for the STOP codes which are:

    STOP: 0x0000008E, 0x83690FDF, 0x956D3890, 0x00000000).

Can anyone help me resolve this BSOD issue? I couldn't find anything online about my codes. There were a gahzillion about 0x000008E (which is common i guess) but the codes after that were not found.

I'm running on windows 7 enterprise service pack 1

Er, is that a legit install?

No, I don't think so. I'm getting that little message in the bottom right corner that says this is not a genuine copy of windows or something like that.

Is that the reason why I'm getting BSOD? BTW, it's my workplace computer, but I've used many computers including my own that has the same message about not being a genuine copy of windows but i've never had BSOD problems or issues.

If this is your workplace computer, shouldn't the IT staff be sorting this out?

Carefully read and follow the instructions here, paying close attention to where the downloaded files are stored and that you run the collection App. as Administrator: http://www.sysnative.com/forums/bso...d-posting-instructions-windows-8-7-vista.html

When the collection has finished, which may take 10 or more minutes, attach the requested files back here, please.

    thanks. I'll try that soon.

Yeah, where I work we don't have IT or anything like that lol. It's very low maintenance here.

Sorry, I ran out of time at work so I have to do it again tomorrow.
The computer did the BSOD after it finished scanning and I lost or couldn't
find the files so I'm doing it again tomorrow.

I'm a little confused by the instructions. It says that I have to download 2 files which I did and save them in Documents Folder (which I did). But then step 2 says to right click B in Documents and run as administrator. What is B?
Is B one of the 2 files I just downloaded? How do you output to New Folder?
What is being output there? I assume it's the scans final report?

It should automatically output the required data to a new folder, called Windows7_Vista_jcgriff2, in Documents.

That's the folder we need zipped and attached; it contains a number of logs, crash dumps (hopefully), system information details, etc.; usually enough to make a BSOD diagnosis from.

Ok, I ran the diagnostic + perfmon and zipped it up.

I tried to upload it here but it kept saying, "upload failed."

So i uploaded it to transferbigfiles. Here is the download link:

    Thanks.

Sorry, I just don't feel right with trying to help out a company when they don't appear to be paying for software that's helping them make money.

    what company?

the good news is i haven't had the BSOD for 2 days now (ever since I did the scan). I used to get it everyday 10 times a day at least. Something must've corrected itself.

This is "the company" for which the computers (PCs) are being used by its employees, one of whom is yourself.

    You said:

    and:

This suggests that the version of Windows installed on "the company's" PCs has not been registered, probably since there appears to be no IT to maintain the PCs or the licenses for the software that it uses.

This implies that the employees, such as yourself, need to maintain the PCs. The next step is to resolve the software license issue, sort out maintainance (backups, patches, drivers, updates, etc.). Perhaps there's a case for you to become the IT department, together with its responsibilities and may be a raise?

    Ah ha! LOL I gotcha.

LOL. No, this is not a money making company. It's public and the computers are not being used to make any profits. It's an educational place.

And now I understand what satrow was doing LOL. He was basically leading me on telling me all the steps to take as if he was going to help me, then after I did everything he instructed, he won't bother to look at the logs and try to help based on the fact that I'm on a computer that doesn't have a genuine copy of windows installed. That was very deceitful lol. He could have just told me he wasn't interested in helping me on personal/moral grounds.

In any case, I appreciate the help everyone has tried to give me. Just leave your own "holier than thou" attitude at the door and judge me as someone unworthy to help because I might be using pirated software. I don't know a single person on this planet who isn't using some sort of pirated software or software they HAVEN'T paid for. That's great that he has good morals, but the reality is, nobody is innocent of anything. Even if you've paid for whatever it is you own (a pair of shoes, a cup of coffee, a computer program, etc), everyone has contributed to the suffering of children, labor workers, and the destruction of the earth's natural resources, so don't even start with the, "OMG, he's using pirated software! He's evil!"

I've gone ahead and posted this on other techie sites for help too, and have already got solutions given to me. So nice try with the deceitful joyride satrow. You better check where your shoes were made from too, then you can post back judge me.

As the site owner, I am glad you got help, even if it wasn't from us. Enterprise software with an error means it's not valid and since you admitted it, we are forced to move on because we don't want to be held legally responsible. A simple call to Microsoft will help you get it validated or purchase a legal copy. Otherwise, it's not a stretch to assume you don't have a legit copy and you never said where it came from only making it more obvious, to us, where it came from. Next time leaving out the enterprise part or telling us how it IS legit, would have gotten it done.

I understand why you want to shoot the messenger here, but as the site owner you can consider me the messenger here. We can't help further, sorry.
