    Hi Fred.

Which search field are you using? The one at the top of the page may not work properly,
but the one Below the download categories list usually works well.

The search results that you posted looks like you were searching for something about Avast.

Both seem to be working OK now.

Tried searching for CCleaner, same thing, blank page.

I can find it on MG's from google, but not from the search feature of the site.

Yep...as mentioned, it's working. Sounds like you have some sort of block going on your browser. Try disabling your add ons and see which one is causing it.

Odd, I do have some blocking stuff on my home PC, but my work PC just has a standard install of Opera. I will try it later with that other Opera download browser. I have heard it might go to other sites than the Opera download. Don't know if that is true or not. :-D

A shot in the dark, while you're on the MajorGeeks home page, use the "Edite Site Preferences..." option from the right click context menu.

In the "Site Preferences" window, look under the "Scripting" tab and see if the "Enable JavaScript" option is checked.

When you're on the MajorGeeks home page, right click on an empty area of the page. A context menu will come up. In the list is an "Edit Site Preferences..." option.

Select that option and a "Site Preferences" window will pop up with a series of tabs at the top of the window. One of those tabs is labeled "Scripting". Select that tab, there will be a list of JavaScript options.

The first one in the list is "Enable JavaScript". If that option is not checked, then when you do a search using the MajorGeeks search feature you end up with a blank search result.

Make sure the option is checked, click "OK", reload the MG home page and try your search again to see if that is the problem.

A shot in the dark but simple to check.

    Yep. Confirmed.
Just tried it with Opera 12.16

Thanks. I checked that, all are checked except the last two in the "Scripting" tab.

All I get is "loading". This is on my home PC and work PC. A search for CCLeaner with Opera, and Exploder both give me a blank result. If I Google CCleaner MajorGeeks, I get this on the first result. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/ccleaner_slim.html

Screen shots of Opera and Exploder after searching MajorGeeks.com for CCleaner. Never had this problem before.

Hmm, not browser specific. What do the two machines have in common? Any similar changes to both machines recently?

The only thing the computers have in common is me. :-D The one at work I browse the main MajorGeeks, Google News, and use it for researching things at work. No changes on my home computer in at least a month, probably more. Well, except for the occasional software download, of course, from MG's.

The one at work is a Win7, home PC is on XP SP3.

Well there you have it. Put on a mask and log in as some one else.:-D At the moment, the only thing I can think of is an update to some piece of software that resides on both computers.

I take it you've been using CCleaner or something to keep cookies, cache, temp files, etc. under control?

Don't know if it indicates anything or not, but there is a difference in your two thumbnails. In Opera it shows "Loading", in Explorer it doesn't.

Yes, love me some CCleaner. I also noticed the difference. As far as the 'loading' one goes, I went and made a sandwich before taking the screenshot, it won't load.

Just for kicks, try doing another search using Opera. On the resultant blank search page, left click on the Ghostery icon and look through the list and see if an item named "Google AJAX Search API" is being blocked(grayed out plus strikethrew).

If it is, try unblocking that. Then do another search.

Blocking that item was the only way, so far, that I've been able to duplicate your Opera thumbnail with the word "Loading" included.

I doubt this will work, but it's possible.

Even it works, doesn't explain Expirer or the other machine.

Does not work, don't have that one blocked.
