Headset help for new desktop PC used with TV monitor

I just purchased a new PC Tower. I also purchased a TV monitor to use with it.

The two are not compatible, and when I am watching videos online (e.g., YouTube), I cannot hear any sound. The headset does not plug into the TV monitor.

In any case, my headset is very old and needs to be replaced.

Can someone recommend a good gaming headset (with microphone) that I can use for gaming, as well as watching videos online?

I'd be grateful for links from Amazon as I have some credits there. I'm looking for a low-to-middle of the road headset, not something pricey.

I started using Google Voice and needed a headset/mike and asked Fry's customer service what they use

They suggested this one and said you should always get a USB connected set as they perform better.

I like mine - clean and crisp.

Remember to choose "plantronics " as the default device in your audio settings when using the headset.

It plugs into the PC.

If you don't like it (although I think you will) Amazon will take it back and also supply a return label.

Hey Shelby,

One thing I forgot to mention: when using the headset, keep the mike in the upright position (not in front of mouth) as this will prevent breakage of mike and is more comfortable.

Is the new headset ok?

Also,I know I said to keep the mike in the upright position, but I found out that it gives a hollow sound that way. Sorry 'bout that.
