Military Rank at Avatar

I have noted that some members have replaced the military rank with other text. How did they do that? I would ask them, but I do not have private message facilities (rules).

We haven't. Forum admins have given us a unique custom title for reasons only they know.

I proudly wear mine as a badge of honor and tribute to a great sub-forum that retired honorably and in full glory.

 

So if one does not like the given title, then there is nothing one can do, other than to contact the administrators.

 

Pretty much. I don't remember that ever happening though.

 

The standard titles refer to number of posts you've made. All forums have them, and they are usually tailored to the theme of the forum you're on (thus the military ranks here). Be aware that requesting a new title more often than not completely backfires, and you'll end up with something worse.

Oh poo. I wrote a thread reply on how I enjoyed my age and being a senior with grown kids and grandkids somewhere in a thread on here. The next time I came to Major Geeks I saw, "Senior Member" under my name. I thought that was so neat! Today I learn it is only because I passed 100 posts.
