    All About Time:

Most of us have seen this happen from time to time. ;)
Someone posts a question or a comment.
Then, while another person is "composing" a reply, either the original poster or another, posts a reply.
Then the number two person, having finished composing his/her reply, posts that reply and only then discovers that
other comments, replys or answers have been posted in the interim time period.

Is there some term that describes that???
How would you label such an occurance?

I don't know. Beats me. :confused

Cross posting? Some forums software warns you before you submit a post that others have replied while you were typing, to give you an opportunity to change what you've said.

More about time.......How about the tricky dateline thing where I am in Australia and I see it is someone's birthday today in the birthday box and start a happy birthday thread to find out that it is actually their birthday tomorrow
    like happened here

    arrgghh :-o

Yeah the overlapping posts are an annoyance so I open another browser tab on the thread before pressing the submit reply button..... just to be sure to be sure ;)

Lucky coz I just found Sgt. Tibbs has already mentioned cross posting :p

    "Where did you hear that?"

    "On the internet"

Whatever it's called, at least it means people are paying attention to the post. It beats the alternative of a ghost-town board. ;)

I always took Cross Posting, as running the same subject on two different threads, that are usually on two different forums on a board.

Just for the record, IMO, Mimsy got it.

There is ninja this and ninja that when Googled, but there is also this: urban dictionary: ninja post

She probably has a few of those ninja swords.

    Slow typing:-D

I'm slow typing ATM I have no spacebar:-D I got pissed at pressing the little rubber nodule on my laptop so I super glued the spacebar on it, it then stopped working so I chewed it off.

To hit space I now have to hit the little metal contact that was under the rubber pad, I've got pretty quick at it now but I suffer a lot of ninja posts:-D

New keyboard on the way, when I order one haha...

Because of the internet I've no idea anymore if the people who make those kind of video's are really dumb or really clever, I'm betting on clever.

Unlucky is what I call it as at times you could be forming a great technical reply and someone "snipes" in and posts a google link.

OK "sniper" sounds a good word for this as in "that **** *** poster before me sniped in and said less than me and got thanks" :)

I'd say that all posts are good and in the majority of cases the quick google fix is never the be all and end all fix and it takes a tech to be able to do a follow up on any additional question a OP has, and that's the measure of technical competence I end to use.
