I love our local symphony!

It's not just that they're very talented (they are). It's not just that they always put on a darn fine show whether they're doing a serious symphony or a silly pops concert (they do). It's that they've done things in the past like play the score to the Lord of the Rings trilogy while the movies play in a huge screen over their heads. It's that they regularly have nationally-known recording artists from all genres of music perform with them.

And then there's this. They're performing the Legend of Zelda this weekend. Sadly, I have to work. :(

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

I got to admit it - when I first looked at the link I thought it said "...horny-goddesses" - I swear.

I was so not going to say anything, but I thought the same. :-D I live in the land of agriculture?!

The Royal Philharmonics did that once. And they put it on YouTube, so that those of us who have to work can listen anyway... :)

This is why I should look at the calendar. You know what I'm working Saturday night? This show. It's been a long week with a lot of stress and very little sleep. :-o :tired LOL

    Nice! Free music!

If our local concert house allowed for volunteer hours in exchange for free tickets, I'd spend all my time there. :)

Maybe look into being an usher? A lot of times those are volunteer positions, and you get to see most of the shows even though you're working.

It was pretty darn cool. Scenes from the game played overhead on a 16x22-foot video screen, with the symphony and a full choir below performing as it went. I didn't get to see it from the front, but I could hear it and was watching in a monitor backstage. :)

Oh, that's a good idea! I shall have to investigate this.....
