When I click the online icon for internet, lower right I see "open network and sharing center".

Then I see private network 3.

    Why does it say 3?

If it should be corrected how can I do this?
    Thank you

Every time your network adapter gets reinstalled, either by driver fault, manually, or OS upgrade, it increments the private network number. It is a Windows annoyance and has been for years.

You could hack the old ones out of the registry and change the name of that one. There might be an app to do it too, but I don't know of one.

@Adrynalyne - Thank you Adrynalyne. I searched everywhere for an answer but found none. At least I understand why it is there.
